LONDON: The British Omani Society (BOS) hosted a dinner in London to honour a high-level delegation from the Royal Academy of Management (RAM), led by Dr Ali bin Qassim al Lawati, President of RAM, as the guest of honour.

Held as part of the Society’s 50th anniversary celebrations, the event brought together BOS trustees, senior UK government stakeholders, distinguished UK figures with close ties to Oman, and representatives from the Omani Embassy in London.

The visit focused on strengthening institutional effectiveness and enhancing public sector capabilities in line with Oman Vision 2040.

The visiting delegation included senior legislative and governance representatives, accompanied by top leadership from the RAM, reflecting the importance attached to strengthening institutional partnerships and strategic collaboration between Oman and the United Kingdom.

The programme was facilitated by the Civil Service College, a leading UK institution that provides bespoke training for professionals in the public sector and civil service both in the UK and internationally.

Richard Stanford, Chairman, BOS, welcomed guests and reaffirmed the Society’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties through education, leadership development and institutional exchange.

He highlighted the significance of senior-level engagement in deepening cooperation between the two countries, particularly amid regional tensions.

The dinner also served as a platform for senior stakeholders to exchange views on governance and public sector delivery. Discussions explored opportunities for future collaboration between UK institutions and the RAM, particularly in professional development, knowledge-sharing and capacity-building.

The BOS continues to build on longstanding bonds of friendship, mutual respect and shared values, fostering cultural understanding and empowering future generations to strengthen ties between Oman and the UK.
